Rare pair of 1940s Cushman Colonial Creations maple wood carved dining chairs. Beautifully carved redish maple and rounded edges are hallmarks of this design.
The H.T. Cushman Company introduced Cushman Colonial Creations, a new line of colonial style furniture designed by Herman DeVries in the 1930s to appeal to modern tastes. This series was the company's trademark line for three decades. The chunky design is reminiscent of contemporaries Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Chapo.
